KAA Youth Camp

General Information
Mission
To build Christian leaders by encouraging, equipping, and empowering urban youth and their mentors through sports camping.
Vision
To revolutionize inner-city America through evangelism and to equip urban youth and their leaders.
KAA is a Christian sports camp located in Golden, Missouri. Boys and girls ages 9 – 18 may attend. This is where youth go to enjoy eight life-changing days of Christ centered excitement. Some activities include archery, fishing, golf, swimming, ropes course, zip line, water skiing and tubing, just to name a few.
KAA offers Christian growth training through bible study mentoring programs. These programs are designed to strengthen youth in their faith, develop leaders, and aid them in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Ambassadors is for youth ages 11-13. Champions/Women of Destiny (CWOD) is for youth ages 14-18. Both of these programs are bi-monthly bible studies that run from October thru March each year.
KAA offers a servant-leadership training program for all youth ages 15-18 who wish to take their walk with Christ to a higher level. Higher ground has some sports activities but is focused more on intense bible instruction, Servant Leadership, and group problem solving. They are taught about different career situations, academic decision making, building relationships, and learning how to study the bible. In addition to that, in their second year of training they go on mission trip in the U.S., and in their third year they go on a mission trip abroad.
Our Involvement
Northeast Bible Church and Youth Fellowship Club have teamed up to make sure every child has the opportunity to attend KAA. We invite youth from all over the Metroplex to join us each year.
Our trip includes a lock-in the night before, group t-shirt, travel by charter bus, stops at Golden Corral for lunch, and eight awesome days of camp.
Because KAA is so popular and space is very limited, we begin registering as early as October every year for our July trip. Many times the camp is full by January, so registering early is important.
We rotate our week of attendance at camp. Odd-numbered years we attend July 3-10. This is a wonderful time of July 4th celebration with parades, a concert, and even a small fireworks display. Even-numbered years we attend July 20-27.
During the 2008 summer session we took 58 kids to camp. Out of that number, 21 rededicated their lives to Christ. We also had 8 new believers accept Jesus Christ while at camp. God is so good! I am glad He is calling His children to Him.
Not to mention the fun we have every year at the Parent/Adult Camp over Labor Day Weekend. As a matter of tradition, we always stop at Catfish Cabin for all-you-can-eat seafood buffet before arriving at camp that Friday. Once at camp, we have the chance to experience in four days some of the fun the kids have all summer. This is a weekend full of lots of laughs, too much food, and friendships you won’t forget!
